The United Nation is seeking Danish assistance to contribute soldiers to a peacekeeping operation in Sudan.
The Danish news paper Berlingske writes that Danish foreign minister Lene Espersen has confirmed that the UN has approached her for that request, but she says the government has not yet decided whether Denmark will contribute.
The UN’s appeal coincides with the government decision to withdraw nearly 150 men from Lebanon where they have since 2009 helped the UN to secure the borders imbroglio there which has always led to clashes with Isreal.
