Sweden climbs to ninth place in the world in terms of wealth
Thursday, 09 February 2012
Sweden seems to be making some progress in tremens of wealth development. The Swedish people have been working extremely hard in the past year and that has earned them more wealth.
This because Sweden emerged from tenth position in the Economic Cooperation Organization OECD's so-called prosperity league, where countries are graded on the basis of purchasing power-adjusted GDP per capita to ninth.
Last year, Sweden weathered the global financial crisis relatively well and this made the country to retain some wealth that would have been washed away. Therefore Sweden stood in front of Australia and Canada, but was passed on the other side by Denmark which is now eight reports shows.
In the lead sits Luxembourg followed by Norway, Switzerland and the USA.
