Nearly half of Finnish people support their government aid to Portugal

Nearly half, 47 percent of Finns want Finland to help European countries that get into financial difficulties.
The Finnish newspaper Iltalehti report on the development while quoting a new poll. A smaller proportion, 39 percent, believe that their country should not support other countries in such circumstances and these most negative ones are support of the some what right wing party, the True Finns.
It should be noted that the True Finns gained increase support into the Finnish parliament because the hold that Finland should reduce its support to trouble EU countries and to even withdraw from the EU

On 16 of May, EU finance ministers will decide on an emergency loan of €78 billion to Portugal. The Finnish Parliament has not yet approved the package which Finland is expected to contribute.
