Violent clash in Sweden between far right and opponents in which a Sweden Democrats parliamentarian is seriously beaten

Some people have been arrested for assault in connection with protests against the far right Sweden Democrat Youth (SDU) gathering in Norrk�ping, Sweden on Saturday.

This comes as the far right party, Sweden Democrat's Secretary of Parliamentary Group, Michael Valtersson, was beaten after the Sweden Democrat’s Youth (SDU) held a meeting at the square in central Norrk�ping on Saturday afternoon. Earlier a man was arrested on suspicion of the crime, police said.


The meeting was a gathering of some fifty SDU youths meeting in Tyska torget in Norrk�ping on Saturday afternoon. After that, an attach was launched at the group with  several of the participants, including Michael Valtersson, Permanent Secretary for the Sweden Democrats' parliamentary group being seriously beaten.

An 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault of Valtersson, who was hospitalized with minor injuries. Even a 17-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of assault.
Both suspects were released by the police after questioning.
