Although Denmark is seen as one of the world's safest countries, the Danes have been found to have bats, knives and pistols beside their easy reach on the nightstand.
A Gallup survey conducted for the newspaper Berlingske Tidende shows that one in seven Danes have some form of weapons in the home to be used against vices such as burglars.
The corresponding increase in the number of residential burglaries are not to be found which suggest that the Danes are like being fed with exaggerated media information about increase in crime. Or the persistent cried by the Danish right wing organisations about the threats from immigrants burglars.
Only 0.012 percent of Danish households were subjected to burglary last year.
