Swedish population is approaching 9.5 million

At the end of 2010 Sweden's population was 9 415 570. Compared to 2009, the population has increased by 74 888 persons. More couples got married, the number of birth has continued to rise and immigration dropped for the first time since 2004. The population increased in 149 municipalities in Sweden.
The population decreased in 140 of Sweden's 290 municipalities during 2010. The population was unchanged in one municipality (Ydre), and increased in the remaining 149 municipalities. In Norrk�ping, Lund and Nacka, the populations passed 130 000, 110 000 and 90 000 inhabitants respectively. Vallentuna passed a more moderate number of 30 000 inhabitants. During the last 40 years, 16 municipalities have had an unbroken population increase. Most of these municipalities are larger towns or suburban municipalities of larger towns. However, Filipstad and H�llefors are two municipalities that have experienced a population decrease for 40 years in a row.
