Friday, 12 August 2011
Economic activity in the Stockholm region in Sweden is still strong, but growth has slowed.
The economic indicator for the second quarter, moved from 33 to 21, according to the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

For the fifth quarter in a row, companies continue to increase the number of employees being employed. The IT sector needs to expand recruitment urgently, but as much as 90 percent of companies say they are short of staff.

Despite the global turmoil, the Swedish economy continues to grow and Stockholm is leading the way according to Johan Treschow, an analyst at the Chamber of Commerce.
Apart from the IT industry, also the construction companies are having big problems finding the right manpower.

It leads the Chamber of Commerce to the conclusion that labour market flexibility needs to be bigger, failures in the education fixed as well as the housing crisis that makes it difficult for people to move to the region, examined.
