Roma Beggars clamped down and chased away from Helsinki

City Board of Helsinki has decided to evict a set of Roma beggars from camps they put up without permission.

The City Board has also decided to work harder in the future to prevent similar temporary camps from emerging. 


The City Board also called for the State to submit a document blueprint on how local authorities should respond to beggars. T the moment it is not clear whether they are eligible for social assistance or not.
