Monday, 25 July 2011 Following the terrorist attacks, the Norwegian party leaders decided to postpone the election campaign for this autumn's municipal elections. The election is scheduled for September 12.
The parties do not intend to conduct election campaigns during the mourning period. Party Secretaries shall jointly agree on when and in what form the campaign can begin. According to Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, there is no need for a conflict between the shape of the political debate and the need to show dignity and compassion in their grief.
