Tuesday, 06 September 2011
Norway has frozen the equivalent Skr360 million in aid to Afghanistan. The decision is pending on the circumstances surrounding bankruptcy of Kabul Bank and that has to be cleared before anything further action is taken.

Kabul Bank is the country's largest lenders on the private sector. International Monetary Fund and the Afghan government are deeply divided on how the bank's assets are managed.

About 90 percent of the country's government spending is financed by external aid and various forms of donations.
