Norway adjusts GDP forecasts and paints a brighter future for its economy

Norway's statistics agency raises its forecast for the Norwegian GDP growth in 2011 to 2.3 percent, up from 2.1 percent in an earlier estimate in February. The forecast for 2012 is lowered at the same time by 0.1 percentage points to 2.8 percent.

Growth forecasts for 2013-2014 increased to 3.0 and 2.8 percent. At the same time the forecast for this year's investments in the Norwegian oil and gas sector was raised to 144.4 billion Norwegian kroner, up from 141.1 billion.
