Wednesday, 20 April 2011
The majority of new MPs elected from Helsinki agree that immigrant children should be distributed equally between the city’s schools.

Of the 20 parliamentarians who have answered the question on the broadcaster, YLE election machine, 12 would agree to an even distribution of immigrant children among different schools.

All the new MPs for the National Coalition Party and the Left Alliance have said they were either completely agreed or somewhat agreed with the idea, reports Finnish national broadcaster Yle.
MPs from among the Social Democrats, the Green League and the True Finns were more divided.
Helsinki’s MPs for the Swedish People’s Party and the Centre either somewhat or completely disagreed with the notion of distributing immigrant children equally between the capital’s schools.
