Finnish Unemployment declined in August

Unemployment figures looked somewhat brighter in August, announced Finnish statistic office, Statistic Finland.

The number of unemployed in Finland was 177 000 persons in August, 91,000 men and 86,000 women. Unemployment rate has fallen by 20,000 from last year. The unemployment rate was 6.6 percent, 0.8 percentage points lower than last year.
The long-term unemployed are still difficult to find employment. Their numbers increased by 1,100 in August and amounted to 57,400 persons. However, the youth unemployment rate eased slightly.
