Explosion of armed robbery of luxury cars in Stockholm, Sweden

Sunday, 31 July 2011
Stockholm has been rocked in the past few days by some aggressive robbery in which owners of luxury cars have seen their cars seized at gun point.

Within a few days, several people in western Stockholm were robbed of valuable cars at gunpoint, something which seem to be like a trend, according to the Stockholm police.

At about after half past ten on Saturday night, police received alarms about a robbery at Bennebolsvgen in Solhem in western Stockholm. A man had been attacked by three people at gunpoint and was forced to surrender his car, an Audi A4 Avant.

The shocked man also lost his jacket and wallet to the thives, according to the police. But he escaped without physical injury.
Earlier in the week similar scenes were played in several locations around Stockholm. Last Wednesday a man was forced out of his Mercedes in Solhem to the three young men after being threatened with a gun. Later that evening another person was robbed of his BMW in Rissne and early on Thursday morning, another man was robbed and his car was taken away near a woody area.

The police later on Thursday arrested two people suspected of having stolen the BMW reports Swedish television. The men who stole the Audi on Saturday evening, however, are still at large.
