Danish Prime Minister, Thorning named among the most courageous women

Monday, 12 March 2012
Of the 150 women that have been accounted as ruthless, fearless and fighting brave battles, the Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt has been classed among them according to the magazine Newsweek.

The international magazine has just named the 150 women in the world who have distinguished themselves apparently in years passed to be tough in the eyes of adversity and to be able to achieve great things in choppy waters.

Among them is Danish Premier Helle Thorning-Schmidt, the woman in the front role as the first female Prime Minister in a male dominated Danish political landscape. Thus this seems to be the grounds for reason for the prestigious title.

Others such as Hilary Clinton and Angela Merkel are well known but the emergence of her as one of the leading women in the world today shows that she is achieving great things even if at home there is still great pressures on her in relation to the economy which is not moving as one would have expected.
But to be able to shake off pressure from men and to continue to stir up the economy in her own way towards the direction she feels good make her fearless and strong woman.

Globally, some very strong women have emerged from unlikely places such as activists and journalists who have played key roles in the Arab spring and human rights in the region in general.
