Burglary or break-in in the Libyan Embassy in Stockholm

Thursday, 21 April 2011
Two people have broken into the Libyan Embassy in Valhallavgen in Stockholm on Thursday.
About twenty people have also gathered in front of the Embassy in a demonstration.
The embassy was closed at the time of the break-in and probably empty of staff.

According to Sven-Erik Olsson at Stockholm police, a burglary alarm came to the police who reported and found individuals outside the embassy, and no staff inside.

The police sent negotiators to the scene to try to get those who have broken into the Embassy to get out.
After consultation with the Foreign Ministry, the police have since gone into the Embassy and managed to arrest a person. The entire embassy is being scanned for persons and perpetrators.
