Finland tipped to emerge faster from economic crisis – academicsWednesday, 15 February 2012
A Finnish academic had pointed that Finland will survive the economic crisis faster than many other countries.
Economist, Professor Paavo Okko spoke during a seminar held in the Finnish parliament last night pointed that he feels that Finland is properly placed to emerge from the economic crisis.
The professor went on that in the autumn there was a fear of collapse, but now it looks brighter. In Finland there is no banking crisis and the economy is in good condition. At the end of this year or early next year there should be pretty good growth, according to the Professor.
He also pointed out that housing prices have not plummeted and unemployment is relatively low. The biggest problem according to Paavo Okko is exports - key is how well the forest industry can do and what's going to take Nokia's place in the market.
