A less vigorous rise in the opinion polls for the Swedish Social Democrats as rise slows down
Thursday, 24 May 2012
The Swedish social democrat party has succeeded to keep its leadership position in the Swedish political scene as long as party leader Stefan Löfven is still there.
But the rise has grown with diminished vigour, according to Swedish media reports. This is because the party received 36.6 percent of the vote in a poll commissioned by Swedish television station, TV4 carried out by polling organisation, Novus in a voter barometer for the month of May.
The increase of 0.7 percentage points is within the margin of error.
Conservatives Moderate party continue to drop and receive 28.3 percent support in the survey - a decline of 0.8 percentage points from the previous month.
The Red-Green coalition is still the largest with an aid of 50.9 percent while the government's four alliance parties have 43.2 percent of the vote.
