Norway tightens border controls especially border with sweden

Wednesday, 06 July 2011
Norway wants tightens border with Sweden so as to reduce the amount of asylum seekers entering the country.

More police officers should be patrolling along the border, believes Justice Minister Knut Storberget.  More controls reduce the number of asylum applicants, according to him on statement he made of Norwegian television:
“Last year the number decreased by 42 percent compared to 2009. The investment in border controls has a lot of credit for that.”
“The more we cover at the border, the fewer problems it will be in other police districts.”
