Norway introduces border controls

Friday, 22 July 2011
Norway has introduced border controls after today's dramatic events. The Norwegian police said on its website.
“There is reintroduced border control in Norway. This means that everyone must be prepared to show travel documents at the border. This approach allows a deviation from the Schengen Agreement,” writes police director, ystein Mland, on the police website.

The police continue to urge people to stay away from downtown Oslo, and to limit the use of mobile telephony. Police director promises to summon and to use all the police resources that the police would need in the investigation of the explosion in Oslo and the shooting on the island of Utya.
