Swedish Car sales reversing to a stand still

Thursday, 01 December 2011
Swedish Car sales have slowed down signalling the feeling in the economy at the moment.
But it has been strong this year and 2011 looks to be a peak year for the industry with over 300,000 cars sold in the country.

In November, sales rose by 0.5 percent compared to same month last year. Despite macro-economic concerns and abrupt shifts in the stock market, car sales have gone with a real growth not seen for a pretty long time.

In the November period, 26,894 new cars were registered, an increase of 0.5 percent over the same period in 2010. So far this year, sales have increased by 7.6 percent.
"Deliveries of passenger cars were strong in November, thanks to former large stock of orders and registrations increased slightly during the month. Vehicle registrations have so far withstood the global economic turmoil, but recently we have seen a slowdown in orders on new cars, "said Bertil Molden, of Bil Sweden, which handle reports of new car registration.

He believes that the market could reach 300,000 limits in 2011.
"I think one can surf on the order banks in December and can reach over 300 000 cars, making the car year to be one of the best ever, "said Bertil Molden.

Sales of trucks rose by 15.9 percent in November and so far this year, truck registrations increased by 23.3 percent.
