Sweden the biggest Scandinavian producer of crude steel

Sweden is now classed 29 among the world's steel producing countries, a climb of seven places from 2009 to 2010.

Among the companies leading the Swedish steel production is SSAB which is classed 36 of 46 companies and is the only company in the Nordic region with a crude steel production of over 3 million tons, according Swedish business daily to Dagens Industri.

China is the country that produces the most crude steel in the world. Largest crude steel company, however, is unchallenged Arcelor Mittal based in Luxembourg.
