Rise in both Swedish exports and imports during in the third quarter

Exports of goods from Sweden during the third quarter increased by 10.1 percent in volume (value in constant prices) compared to the third quarter of 2010.


At the same time, imports of goods increased in volume by 4.5 percent. In January-September 2011 the increase in volume of exports was 12.5 percent while imports increased 9.0 percent, compared to the corresponding period in 2010.

Exports third quarter: Machinery and transport equipment rose by 21 percent
The volume of exports rose sharply in the third quarter as they did in the first and second quarters and in all quarters of 2010 (compared to the corresponding period the year before).

The increase in volume during the third quarter applies largely to increases for the sector Machinery and transport equipment which rose by 21 percent in volume. Mineral products rose by 5 per cent while the sector Other products rose by 4 percent.

The sector for Energy products was unchanged in volume and Chemical products rose by 1 percent. Wood and paper products decreased by 3 percent.
