The government's promise of halving the restaurant tax in the Spring Budget Bill is becoming a reality.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Finance submitted the draft to the Council on Legislation, which means that the VAT on restaurant and catering services at year-end is lowered to 12 percent, from the current 25 percent.

The reduction is estimated to cost Skr5.4 billion in 2012 and 3500 new full time job are expected to be created. There however no rate reduction in Spirits, wine and beer.
