Petrol sales continue to fall in Sweden in favour of E85

Sales of fuel class ethanol fuel blend or the E85 increased by 11 percent in the first half of the year in Sweden, according to preliminary statistics from the Swedish Petroleum Institute (SPI).


Diesel sales rose by 5 percent while sales of petrol fell by as much, compared to the first half of last year.
Looking at June 2011 E85 is emerging as a winner, with a sales increase of 3.8 percent. Diesel and petrol sales fell by just over 1 percent each last month.
