Over 200 000 new jobs in Norway by 2014 and foreign workers are the target

Norwegian Central Bureau of Statistics (SSB) estimates that Norway will have 220 000 new jobs by 2014. Most of them are expected to go to foreign workers.

Speaking to the newspaper Aftenposten, SSB Director Hans Henrik Scheel said that... “the demand for workers is growing rapidly in the Norwegian economy. Both private consumption and investment will grow significantly, ".
Growth is expected mainly in the private sector such as the oil industry, construction and hydroelectric industries.
