Mobile phone and the computer take over TV viewers in a Swedish underdeveloped TV market

More and more people in Sweden are watching TV over the internet while the traditionally television-guild restricted viewing is losing ground.

This is the review of the Mediavision recent report describing trends in the third quarter of this year in Swedish television market.

One million Swedes daily watch television either on computer or mobile phone, and that is an increase of 30 percent over the same quarter last year. 140 .000 of the daily television viewers watch also via their phone and there the viewership is increasing fastest.

Since the smart phone has become increasingly common, it has also become more common to watch TV programs through the mobile.  People are always with them and can watch anytime, anywhere, according to Mediavision.

According to Marie Nilsson of Mediavision, the Swedish TV market is also underdeveloped in some areas. Marie Nilsson sees clear differences between today's Swedish / Nordic TV market and the U.S..

“There is a market maturity in the U.S. that is missing here. In Sweden you have to be fairly competent and skilled consumers to find the range. In the U.S. there are several services that gather range and it feeds viewers to. Netflix is an example, a service that gathers some older programs.
