Increasing sick leave in Sweden

The number of sick days per employee during the sick pay period increased during the third quarter compared to the same quarter in 2010


According to statistic Sweden which analyses the development, the total number of sick days per employee during the sick pay period was 1.06 compared to 0.93 in 2010.

As of the second quarter, the design of the survey has been changed. This has affected the estimation levels. See “Definitions and explanations for more information.

The number of sick days per employee for the private sector increased with 0.13 days compared to the third quarter of 2010. In the public sector, women in the municipality sector had the largest change. During the third quarter, total sick pay was given for an average of 0.85 days per employee.
