Falling electricity prices in Sweden in July

Low usage as more people go on holidays and great weather means that the price for electricity in Sweden continues to fall.

The average price on the Nordic energy power exchange, Nord Pool in July was 36.3 �re per kilowatt hour. It is 18 percent lower than the average price in June.

Low consumption during the summer and well-filled hydro reservoirs are also blamed for driving down the price of electricity. The current financial crisis and the well-filled reservoirs also decreases the risk as high electricity prices during the previous two winters, according electricity exchange site,
