Fall in New orders for Swedish industry in June

New orders for Swedish industry decreased by 1.0 percent in seasonally adjusted figures in June compared to May.
When comparing June of this year and the same month of the previous year new orders increased by 5.5 percent, in working day adjusted figures according to statistic Sweden.

In most industry sub-sectors new orders decreased in June compared to May. The pharmaceutical industry and the petroleum industry had the most negative development with decreases of 16.7 and 6.5 percent. During the last quarter total new orders increased by 1.0 percent compared to the previous quarter.

From the domestic market new orders increased by 0.5 percent during June compared to May, after an increase of 0.7 percent during May compared to April. During the last quarter new orders increased by 1.5 percent compared to the previous quarter.

New orders from the export market decreased by 2.1 percent during June compared to May, after a decrease of 0.2 percent during May compared to April. During the last quarter new orders increased by 0.6 percent compared to the previous quarter.

New orders increased on an annual basis, but with a slower rate than previous months. When comparing June of this year and the same month of the previous year new orders increased by 5.5 percent. The corresponding comparison in the domestic market results in an increase of 5.3 percent and the export market an increase of 5.7 percent.
 
The figures for June are preliminary. Since the previous publication the change in new orders in May compared to April has been revised upwards by 0.1 percentage points to an increase of 0.2 percent. The change in new orders between May of this year and the same month of the previous year has been revised upwards by 0.1 percentage points to an increase of 8.7 percent.
