Drop in cases of credit card fraud and card theft in sweden this year

The number of complaints about Credit card and general card fraud fell by 23 percent in the first half of this year compared with the corresponding period in 2010, according to latest reports.

Swedish Bankers' Association wrote on the Swedish daily, Sydsvenskan that the increased security associated with the use of cards could be blames on the decline. Banks are using technology to alert cards owners when theirs card is being used in a strange way, such as when money is taken out in several countries simultaneously.

Between January and June 2011, 10,915 card and computer fraud, were reported according to Swedish crime prevention Council, Br�.
