Drop in Swedish producer and import prices in May

Swedish import prices fell 1.5 percent and export prices 0.6 percent from April to May. Producer prices on the domestic market dropped 1.1 percent and producer prices in total fell 0.9 percent.

Lower prices for crude oil contributed to the downturn on the import market by 1.0 percentage point. The export market was mostly affected by lower prices on refined petroleum products which contributed by 0.4 percentage points. On the domestic market seasonal normal lower prices for district heating contributed to the downturn with 0.9 percentage points.

Prices for domestic supply, that is, domestic and import markets together, decreased by 1.2 percent on average from April to May.

During the past twelve months, producer prices have increased by 1.0 percent. On the domestic market, producer prices have increased by 2.3 percent while prices on the export market have decreased by 0.3 percent. During the same period, prices for domestic supply have increased by 1.6 percent and import prices by 1.0 percent.
