Youngman ready to buy Saab's bankruptcy – Swedish press report
Tuesday, 20 December 2011
Chinese Youngman, with President Rachel Pang, is ready to make a bid for Saab's bankruptcy estate. The bid for all or parts of operations that is independent of GM's technology.

Swedish business daily, Dagens Industry reports that the Youngman is still very much in love with Saab and would love to fight more for the company.
"We want to save jobs and ensure that operations in Trollhättan are saved there. But production will not remain at the previous level, "said lawyer John Nylén at the law firm Baker McKenzie to the paper. He is the spokesman for the carmaker Youngman.

The bid shall broadly include Saab's new Phoenix platform, which requires further development. But John Nylén does not exclude other elements that are independent of GM's technology.
"We are starting immediately a dialogue with GM, but also with the bankruptcy trustee. We are very keen to have a good relationship with General Motors, "said Johan Nylén.
The difference with the proposal that GM turned down is that Youngman now brings the technology and the business to Saab itself owns and has available.

But the strategy can be that a start of production take two years - until the new model on the new platform is developed.
