Telenor wants to sell stake in Norwegian media concern A-press

Norwegian telecom giant, Telenor is thinking of selling its stake in Norwegian media concern, A-Pressen, but the Swedish labour Union, LO, which is the other major owner of the media group is not finding it an issue to take over the shares.
“That we would become the majority owner has never been discussed,” said LO leader Roar Flåthen to Norwegian paper, Klassekampen.

Telenor at moment owns 48.2 percent of the shares  A – pressen while LO's various unions owns 48.6 percent and the Foundation  Fritt Ord holds 3.2 percent.

A-Pressen is the Norway’s second largest media group with a turnover of Nkr4.6 billion and approx. 3000 employees. The Group is the largest player in the local media and commercial television in Norway and has operations in the newspaper, television, digital media, magazines, advertising sales and distribution companies.

In addition, A - pressen also has significant printing operations in Russia.
