Swedish Banking group, SEB sells retail holding in Ukraine

Swedsh banking group, SEB reports that it is selling its retail business in Ukraine to Euro Bank group.
SEB's business in Ukraine has seen very limited lending where in mid – 2011 it lent out just under Skr2 billion.


SEB continues to operate as a commercial bank in Ukraine,   focusing on serving its business customers from Scandinavia, Germany and the Baltic countries.
The transaction will be implemented in mid-2012, provided that all necessary permits have been obtained.
The effect of SEB on the sale of retail business in Ukraine is expected to be approximately -Skr250 million according to news reports.

This effect is expected to be taken when the transaction closes well into the year 2012.
SEB has not communicated the size of the purchase price from the buyer Eurobank.
