SAS to modernise fleet and places order for 30 Airbus planes.

SAS on Monday ordered 30 planes from European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, with options for another eleven planes in the future. The model being sought after is the Airbus A320 neo said SAS in a press release.


The order value amounts to approximately Skr18 billion and the first aircraft is expected to be delivered during the second half of 2016, according to a press release.

The goal is to harmonize the SAS’S fleet. From 2015 the SAS short-and medium-haul aircraft will consist of two types of aircraft: Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737NG.
