Rumours about a patent battle between Chinese ZTE and Ericsson could be reason for ZTE stock collapse

Thursday, 19 January 2012
Rumours that the Chinese telecom company ZTE lost a patent battle with Swedish Ericsson has helped ZTE's shares plummeted by at most 12 percent in Thursday's trading.

At the closing price, has the shares of the company fallen by 7.3 per cent, writes Reuters.
Speculation of a weak result for 2011 is also believed to have contributed to the decline.
ZTE denies that price collapse has been as a result of the patent dispute and says that it is not yet settled.
