Intense stresses in the Swedish business cycle – Evidence:  Preem give notice to 130 staff
Tuesday, 24 January 2012
A total of 130 employees from Preem’s oil refinery in Sweden have been given termination notices; 60 in Gothenburg, 60 in Lysekil and 10 in Stockholm in the first instance.

According to radio Sweden reporting from Gothenburg, the company's employees were informed about the situation during the day. A total of 900 people at Preem station in  Lysekil and Gothenburg will have to be let go.

“Our intention is to solve it by natural attrition and voluntary departures,” says Thomas Ögren Preem's press officer.
The reason for the layoff is a reduction in demand for their products. “There is an oversupply of refined products in the market.”
