Software Company Digia has outlined plans to lay off up to 190 workers. Lay-off talks announced on Friday will affect 530 workers. The negotiations affect the company’s Mobile Solutions operation, which has to adapt to the changes Nokia announced recently.

Nokia’s changes resulted in a fall in demand for Digia's services and overcapacity at the company, according to a stock exchange release published on Friday morning. The talks affect Digia employees in Helsinki, Jyvskyl, Oulu and Tampere as well as all workers at the company’s Lappeenranta unit.
The talks also affect some staff in certain administrative and clerical functions. In all, Digia employs 1,586 workers.
The talks do not affect Digia’s Enterprise Solutions division, whose operations Digia predicts will expand this year.
