Metro dives into Columbian publishing market

Free news paper company, Metro International enters in Colombia and is launching there this autumn to start delivering free newspapers in the capital, Bogota.

In a statement from the company, it also said that the paper will be published under the name ‘Publimetro’. The publication is made in collaboration with Grupo Nacinal de Medios. The parties have formed a joint venture in which Metro has a 51 percent stake. Metro International will receive franchise fee from the joint venture.

Bogot´┐Ż has 8 million inhabitants, and entry means that Metro is available in seven of South America's ten largest cities, said Metro's CEO Per Mikael Jensen, in the press release.

The paper will be published from Monday to Friday.
