Surprise, Surprise, Lower profit for the Swedish alcohol retail monopoly, SystembolagetWednesday, 15 February 2012
Swedish government owned alcohol retail monopoly, Systembolaget reported a profit before tax of Skr44 million for the last quarter. For the corresponding period in 2010, the profit of Skr72 million was reported.
This is surprising because with it’s positioning the market it was expected that profits for the period would grow.
Revenue amounted to Skr6.621 million, compared with Skr6.566 million a year earlier.
Full-year profit fell to Skr304 million, from Skr 396 million.
There is uncertainty about the development of Systembolaget's sales in the future, writes the state owned monopoly on its outlook for the future.
