The signs are it will be here finally next year. This we are referring to flight to well below half their today’s price when several low cost airlines in Scandinavia embark on long-haul flights. Two Norwegian players have already signed up on the pitch.

Flights to cities like New York, Bangkok and other international metropolises are pitted to be much cheaper in the future. That's in step with the plans laid down by new Norwegian competitors like airliner Norwegian and Feel Air in the coming year. They’ll begin to fly long-haul routes at much lower prices than the Scandinavians are accustomed to according to the Danish business daily Brsen.

"Competition is going to stimulate the market and will result in lower prices for intercontinental traffic. The Scandinavian passengers can look forward to lower prices. It is possible for Norwegian start earning income with a fare of Dkr2000," said Lasse Sandaker-Nielsen, communications adviser to the airliner Norwegian to the Danish paper Brsen.
