Swedish telecom giant Ericson has been approached by the Australian State-owned National Broadband Network (NBN) and they have both agreed on a deal worth around Skr7.4 billion.

According to reports in Swedish media sources and the Reuters news network, the contract includes the construction and operation of a wireless network over the next ten years to provide coverage in remote areas of Australian which can not be reached with fibre optic cables. This is based by the government’s resolve to provide most Australian homes with high-speed internet.
