Electronic retailer Experts take over 30 of Onoff stores

Remember the Swedish consumer electronic we talked abut its demise, now it has emerged that one of its competitors, Norwegian owned  Expert is one of those buying some of its stores.

Expert will be buying 30 of the 67 stores of bankrupts Onoff, and one of Onoff’s central warehouse according to Swedish business daily  Dagens Industri.
“We want to have more stores in Sweden and as such can increase our synergies in purchasing and logistics,” says Expert's Swedish Managing Director, Magne Solberg told the newspaper.


Expert's operations in Sweden at the moment are at a loss, just to show how tight the nature of consumer electronic business is in Sweden.
“With this purchase, we’ll get a much better portfolio of stores at the right sizes and location,” says Magne Solberg to DI.

This will means that Expert will expand its Swedish market share of nine percent, at the moment to about 12-13 percent.

The trustee in charge of Onoff bankruptcy procedure, Lars Eric Gustafsson confirms the deal for the Swedish news agency, TT according to news reports.

Expert’s flags are scheduled to fly over the 30 stores from 1 August. The chain currently has 173 stores in Sweden and is part of the Norwegian Expert Group. Altogether there are about a thousand stores in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
