DNB Nor shows better than expected performance

The large Norwegian bank,  DnB NOR made a profit before tax of Nkr4.7 billion for the second quarter. During the same quarter of 2010, earnings reached Nkr4.4 billion.
Analysts had expected a profit of Nkr4.2 million.
Net interest income landed at Nkr6.048 billion, compared with Nkr5.744 billion. Loan losses shrank from Nkr878 million to Nkr457 million.
