Construction giant Skanska sees profits halved

Construction Group Skanska recorded a profit before tax of Skr451 million for the first quarter of 2011.
That compares with profit of Skr936 million corresponding periods of 2010.
Analysts had on average expected a profit of Skr678 million, according to Reuters.

Turnover was Skr24.8 billion, compared with Skr25.8 billion a year earlier. New orders in construction gave Skr21.6 billion, compared to Skr25.6 billion first quarter of 2010.
Analysts had expected sales of Skr25.1 billion and an order intake of Skr27.2 billion, according to Reuters.
