Friday, 30 December 2011
Bankruptcy trustees in Saab Automobile have high hopes for a "some continued activity" at the factory in Trollhattan.

The two liquidators have since bankruptcy Dec. 19 met with a number of Swedish and foreign stakeholders' who expressed interest in a possible acquisition of the business or parts thereof, according to a statement the bankruptcy trustees, Anne-Marie Pouteaux and Hans Bergqvist released.

"The contacts so far taken have been positive and they give real hope that there may be alternatives, and even combinations of solutions that could result in some continued activity and a proper settlement of the bankruptcy case. There is no timeframe for when something more specific as options can be presented or when a closure may occur, we can not provide such concrete information in the current situation, "they wrote.

November salary for the 3500 Saab Employees was paid from the government salary guarantee scheme after 48 hours, according to the bankruptcy trustees. However, the December wages became more complex to clarify, according to their report on the press release.

But the hope in spite of their current inability to clarify is that Saab worker should hope to be continuously receiving their salaries either immediately or later in mid-January, and thereafter follows their original plan.

They are reported to have held a series of meetings with local government leaders in Trollhattan, the governor of Västra Götaland provice, Lars Backstrom, the Debt Office and the Department of Commerce.
