Private equity group BC Partners based in the UK has bought the Swedish cable television and internet company, Comhem.

The sellers are Providence Equity Partners and The Carlyle Group. The purchase was announced on Thursday, but no numbers on the deal were disclosed.
Comhem has previously been valued at between Skr13 and Skr18 billion.

The process to sell Comhem has been going on for a long time and just over a week ago there were only two buyers remaining, BC Partners and a group Cinven and Nordic Capital.

Carlyle Group and Providence Equity Partners bought in 2005, Comhem from the Wallenberg hegemony, private equity firm EQT for almost Skr11 billion.

Sweden's dominant television distributor Comhem was launched originally by Telia, but was sold to EQT, in the summer of 2003 for just over Skr2 billion.
