BAIC to buy Saab's electric car venture

It is not only Saab's new Phoenix platform that attracts Chinese. Saab Automobile's electric car project may also have made the Chinese weak and want to own it.

BAIC, which had previously bought the rights to the old 9-5 and 9-3 from Saab, has expressed an interest in taking over, in collaboration with a Japanese battery manufacturers, according to Swedish business daily, Dagens Industri.
The electric car venture owned largely by foundation Innovatum wants the business to remains in Trollhättan and not moved to China.
