The move where Pharmaceutical giant for years have been inviting doctors to travel to conferences around the world will be stopped.

Often, the company has had to pay physicians hotels, travel, conference fees and dinners and sponsor related meeting our of its operations pot.
But as of July 1 that will be stopped by the pharmaceutical giant, Astra Zeneca and all kinds of gifts and invite trips will no longer be available.

“Each company determines the course it takes, but it would not be surprising if more will be following us,” says Martin Olovsson, Nordic chief of Astra Zeneca to the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet.

Just last week, the Danish medical association made a proposal that will see doctors stop receiving gift from pharmaceutical companies.  This might be a new trend in which the sectior wants to maintain independence from each other.
